Albright welcomes class of 2026
A large class of academically minded first year and transfer students moved into residence halls last August. The college’s newest 476 students consist of 418 first year students and 58 students transferring to Albright from colleges around the country. Globally, they join the Reading, Pa., community from 22 different states and four countries (Argentina, Ghana, Hong Kong SAR and Japan). Academically talented, incoming students have remained focused on their academic achievements in high school, despite a disruptive pandemic. Forty-two members of Albright’s incoming students graduated in the top 10 of their high school’s classes, averaging six honors courses and three AP courses. More than 20% of them are eligible for Albright’s rigorous honors program. Nineteen members of the incoming class are Albright Shirk Scholars. More than 55% are the first in their families to attend college. 85% of this year’s ambitious incoming students plan to major in two areas of study. Top declared majors include business administration, psychology, biology, nursing and fashion. 34% will pair academics with NCAA varsity athletics.
