Striking Out a Season
“Monday morning [March 16], Coach called me. I didn’t have to pick up to know what she was going to say. She called all the seniors personally before telling the team that our season was canceled. Within a seven day span everything had changed for me. I was never going to play for Albright again. I can’t even put into words how I felt. I was never going to put my red and white uniform on again. I was never going to step between the white lines again. I was never going to play softball again.”
I made my second home here.
“I made my second home at Albright College and my second family here. I grew up more in these past four years then I ever did in my whole life. My teammates weren’t just girls that I shared a common interest with. I played with them, practiced with them, lived with them, ate with them, traveled with them, laughed with them, cried with them, lost with them, won with them and experienced just as much on the field as I did off the field with them. Playing softball in college was one of the best decisions I ever made.”
