The Albright Lions men’s basketball team nearly pulled off another late heroic second half comeback, but fell just short as they dropped a 77-73 decision to top-seeded Arcadia in the semifinals of the MAC Commonwealth Tournament this winter.

The loss ended the team’s season at 9-17 overall after the Lions won four-straight games to make it to the semifinals of the conference tournament for the third-straight season.

Three-peat Champions

Sophomore Bryce Schaffer broke his own MAC record in the 200 fly and the Albright Lions men’s swimming team wrapped up its third consecutive MAC title this winter. The win marks the eighth title in the last nine years — continuing the program’s streak of finishing first or second each year since 1999. Schaffer won the 200 fly for the second straight year and head coach Michael Hay earned Men’s Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his Albright tenure.

Harris took home the 300 meter dash in a time of 37.88 and broke the previous school record of 37.89 that had been set by Jason Scheerer ’04 in 2002. In the 60 meter dash, Harris finished second in an official time of 7.253 seconds, edging out Lebanon Valley’s Owen Buhr who finished third in 7.260.
