Albright 96 on MAC Honor Roll
Albright coaches ask for dedication both on the fields and in the classrooms. Despite the challenge, many Lion athletes earn grade-point averages of 3.0 and above in a variety of pre-professional disciplines and distinctive programs. Clearly, Albright is about academic excellence, first and foremost.
The Middle Atlantic Conference Executive Director Ken Andrews announced the 2017 MAC Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll in December. Albright placed 96 student-athletes on the list.
The winter/spring academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity level sport during the winter and spring seasons and registered a spring term/semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher. The Albright honorees in each sport are:

Albright Hosts Second Bowl Game
The Albright football team hosted a game in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series for the second consecutive season when it hosted Susquehanna on Nov. 18.
The Lions earned the top-seed in the MAC and hosted the Centennial’s second-seeded River Hawks at Shirk Stadium. Albright recovered from back-to-back losses in mid-season to win its final three games of the regular season. The Lions finished in a tie for second place with Widener in the MAC, and the Lions earned the tiebreaker with their victory over the Pride in the Pretzel Bowl in September.
The Lions finished its season with a postseason appearance for the seventh consecutive year. Albright also won at least eight games for the third time in a row and for the fifth time in six years. The team also reached the AFCA national rankings in October, coming in with a No. 24 ranking after starting the season with a 5-0 record.
Women’s Soccer ECAC Semifinals
The Albright women’s soccer team put together one of its best seasons in program history this fall as they advanced to the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament for the first time ever. The Lions finished the season 12-9-1 and also made an appearance in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament as well. For the second straight season, Albright earned hosting rights for the first two rounds of the ECAC Tournament. They opened by holding on for a 2-1 win over Juniata on a freezing Saturday night before knocking off Penn State Harrisburg the next day to advance to the ECAC semifinals. They traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts to face defending ECAC Tournament champion Springfield in the semifinals. The Lions were six minutes away from upsetting Springfield before the Pride scored two goals in the final minutes to get the comeback win. Senior Crissy Terraces and junior goalkeeper Alexis Tunney were named to the All-ECAC Tournament team for their performance.
