Getting to Know…
Frieda Weise ’64, Alumni Association board member
Major: History with Spanish minor
Campus Involvement: International Club
Occupation: Retired; previously served as director of health sciences and human services, library, University of Maryland, Baltimore, Md.
Hobbies: Photography, reading, travel, walking, hiking, pottery, music and opera
Favorite Albright memories: Panty raids; wearing Bermuda shorts because women were not allowed to wear pants even in winter; Dr. Reppert dismissing English class because the lawnmowers were too loud. Maybe not a happy memory, but I remember the day President Kennedy was shot, and Rev. Marlow telling us he had died. All classes were cancelled. It was a very sad and shocking day.
The reason I choose to give back to my alma mater: I received a wonderful education, which has served me well throughout my life. Classes were small and I felt the faculty were really interested in us. I also enjoyed many cultural activities because of my liberal arts education, and I made friends that I have to this day. Albright was a life-enriching experience all around.
