Thanksgiving/Winter Break Closing

Break Information

Thanksgiving/Winter Break

As noted in the Community Living Guide posted in August, Residence halls will close for Thanksgiving/winter break on Tuesday, November 24th at 6 PM. You must depart campus by this time and follow the procedures outlined by Residential Life to complete your checkout process.

  • You must unplug everything in your room.
  • Unplug, clean and defrost your microfridge.
  • Clean your room, removing all trash and perishable items.
  • Ensure belongings are moved away from the heating unit.
  • Close windows and blinds.
  • Take all items that you may need during the break.
  • Lock your door.
  • Complete your express checkout in the MyHousing Student Portal to let us know you have departed campus.

If you meet the Break Stay Requirements (see the Community Living Guide, pg. 9), you may request to remain on-campus during the break. You must complete the Break Stay Request Form in your MyHousing Student Portal. Break stay requests must be completed by Friday November 20th at 5:00 PM.

Rockland Hall and affinity house students will receive email communication with specific information on remaining in their assignments during the break.


Interim Housing

Interim housing will open on January 3rd at 9:00 AM. Interim housing will be made available for students who are required to be on campus for official college business. If you are taking online classes and have questions about Interim housing please reach out to Residential Life. Students needing housing over interim must complete the Interim Housing Form in your MyHousing Student Portal by December 18th at 5:00 PM. For the health and safety of all Albrightians, students participating in Interim housing will be asked to self-quarantine 14 days prior to arriving to campus and adhere to the safety guidelines outlined in the Community Care Compact.


Spring Housing

Spring housing for all residential students will begin on February 14th at 9:00 AM.  With additional safety precautions due to COVID-19, a structured move-in process will be provided to students in early January. Students who are uncomfortable living on-campus amidst the COVID-19 pandemic should contact Residential Life by no later December 10th to inquire about the COVID-19 off-campus petition process.
