Welcome Weekend Schedule 2024

Thursday, August 22

8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Check in to Residential Life – You will receive a specific time to check in at your building

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Campus Picnic – Stop by the corner of Kelchner field to pick up a lunch kit and enjoy on the field, over in the quad, or on the go as you continue to set up your new room!

4 p.m. – Friends and families bid farewell and head off campus as it is the official start of welcome weekend sessions for students!

3:30 – 4:30 p.m. – Commuter Student Check in at the Schumo Center (Park in the lot in front of the stadium on 13th and Exeter Streets, and walk to the main entrance of the gym on 13th street.)

4 – 5 p.m. – Residential Student Welcome –  meet with your RA in the residence halls

4:30 p.m. – Commuter Student Welcome – meet the students of the commuter student association in the Pine Room of Selwyn Hall (right arouond the corner from Admissions).

5 p.m. – Welcome and Introductions to Albright Orientation in the Chapel

6 p.m. – Dinner with your POP group

8 p.m. – Late night Activities

 

Friday, August 23

7 – 8 a.m. – Breakfast

8:30 a.m. – Convocation, Chapel

9:45 a.m. – Academic Advisor Meetings Session – Majors/Alphas

10:45 – 11:45 a.m. – Health and Safety Session Rotation

11:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. – Connections Carnival and Lunch Rotation

2:00 – 3:00 p.m. – Red Solo Cup Presentation

3:00 – 4 p.m. – ELCDC & your Student Success Team

4 – 5 p.m. – Activity with POP group

5 – 7 p.m. – Dinner Rotations

7 p.m. – Late Night Activities

 

Saturday, August 24

7:30 – 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast

9 a.m.-12 p.m. – Morning Session Rotations with OSIL and POPs

12 p.m.- 2 p.m. – Lunch & Welcome Back Bingo Rotations

2 – 4 p.m. – Afternoon Session Rotations with POPs

4 p.m. – Featured Speaker, Chapel

6 – 7:30 p.m. – Dinner Rotation

8 p.m. – Late Night Activities

 

Sunday, August 27

8-9:30 a.m. – Breakfast

9:30 a.m. – Meet with POP group – Science Field

10:30 a.m. – WW 2023 Group Photo – Science Field

11:00 a.m. – Uniquely Albright Performance – Chapel

11:45 a.m.- Closing Ceremony – Chapel

1 p.m. – Lunch

Just as our students need support and guidance in their transition to Albright, we know it can pose as many challenges for their families as well.  On Thursday, August 22th at 4pm, we will be hosting a meet and greet in the Student Center just for family members while your students begin their orientation sessions.  There will be members of the Albright community on hand to answer any questions you may have, point you to the resources available, and provide you with a family guide to help you navigate this transition.
