Lifting Up Lions
What is the Lifting Up Lions initiative?
We believe that no Albrightian’s social, academic, physical, or mental well-being should be limited by challenges related to financial or material resources. In light of this, the Student and Campus Life Division is hard at work to remove barriers to student success and health.
We encourage Albrightians to take advantage of these resources and opportunities, no questions asked. Students should never feel as though these resources are only for those who are severely in need or that they may be judged for requesting assistance. If you need anything, we want to help you.
If you would like to contribute donations of clothing or toiletries to this initiative, or if you would like to speak with me about any of the information presented here, please reach out!
Samantha J. Wesner, DNP, CRNP, WHNP-BC
Vice President of Student and Campus Life and Chief Health Officer
Albright has formed a relationship with the food bank at Spring Valley Church of God. The food bank will be available to students from 6:30 to 7:30 every Monday evening. Students who need transportation to the food bank should arrive at Public Safety between 6:15- 6:30 p.m. to sign up. Students are also welcome to transport themselves—see driving directions here.
Coats, gloves, hats, and other warm clothing items are available in the Student and Campus Life Suite in Selwyn Hall South (with the white pillars on the porch). If students are unable to find the garments or sizes they need, a paper form is available for them to make specific requests.
The ELCDC has toiletries and similar necessities available to students in the Geiser House. These include shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant, Band-Aids, and more. Students wishing to access these can find them downstairs near the presentation room.
