This award is dedicated to the honor and memory of Assistant Professor Melinda Riccio. Melinda Riccio was an assistant professor in Accounting in the School of Professional Studies. Melinda was known for her enthusiasm, knowledge of her subject matter, and for her passion and dedication to students. The first School of Professional Studies Excellence in Teaching Award was posthumously awarded to Melinda Riccio.

The Melinda Riccio ’94 Memorial Excellence in Teaching Award is given to a faculty member in the School of Professional Studies who has demonstrated teaching excellence, enthusiasm, and who has made significant contributions towards the success of our students.

School of Professional Studies faculty members are nominated by students in the School of Professional Studies and the recipient of the award is reviewed by the Academic Standing & Honors Committee. This committee makes their recommendation for the award to the Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
