Dear Albright Reporter:

I was very happy to receive The Reporter for fall 2007, which reported that I was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Dept. of Military Affairs and that I was nicknamed “Father of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.”

I was enrolled at Albright in November 1946 when I was appointed Commander of the 148th Fighter Squadron at the Reading Airport. I took that responsibility along with my continuing studies at Albright and succeeded in building that unit into its combat capability as a P-47 fighter unit in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.

I was successful in these endeavors leading up to the 148th Fighter Squadron being ordered into the Active Federal Service during the Korean War. The rest is history.

Thank you so much for remembering me.

When we received the latest issue of The Albright Reporter I was so impressed with the new format that I wanted to write and commend you on all of your efforts. It is so professional looking and filled with useful and insightful information. Congratulations on a job well done.
