Pamela Gockley

Reading, Pa. – Entrepreneur, author and consultant Pamela S. Gockley will present a talk, “Landing the Job: Why First Impressions, Body Language & Online Presence Matter,” on Tuesday, May 6, in Albright College’s Campus Center, South Lounge. The event, which is free and open to the public, runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

As CEO of Vigilant Corp., a Reading-based web design, hosting and management company, and as founder/president of PennsylvaniaJobs.com, Gockley has coached hundreds of jobseekers and employers on interviewing, reputation assessment, and networking online and in-person.

The author of The Reputation Factor, Gockley addresses such topics as: Are employers really looking at my Facebook page? Does my opinion of myself match up with how other people see me? What are the do’s and don’ts of body language in an interview? Should I hide my tattoos and piercings?

Gockley holds an associate’s degree in business management and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Kutztown University. She has been involved in the creation of eight businesses and has advised and mentored many others. In 2004, Gockley was selected by then-Gov. Ed Rendell as one of 50 Outstanding Business Women in Pennsylvania.
