Biography
Dominic Polo Nanni comes to Albright from Grand Valley State University, where he previously served as a visiting professor in the Department of Writing. He is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit. At Wayne State, he taught writing courses for the English Department and studied classical rhetoric and political philosophy. He is currently working on a dissertation on Isocrates’ Against the Sophists, arguing for an Isocratic approach to the teaching of rhetoric and writing. Once he finishes, he plans to begin work on a book project which will examine the relationship between rhetoric, liberal education, and citizenship. He remains deeply attached to his home state of Michigan and is immensely proud that all his degrees come from Wayne State, which is the only major university located in the city of Detroit.
