He is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit. At Wayne State, he taught writing courses for the English Department and studied classical rhetoric and political philosophy. He is currently working on a dissertation on Isocrates’ Against the Sophists, arguing for an Isocratic approach to the teaching of rhetoric and writing. Once he finishes, he plans to begin work on a book project which will examine the relationship between rhetoric, liberal education, and citizenship.
