Greetings from the Lion Nation! Cheer on our athletic teams, go on group tours, celebrate your reunion, and much, much more! Remember to tour campus, look for the Albright lion and visit The Freedman Gallery — open Friday, Sept. 22, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 24, 1-4 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 22

Special invitation: 50+ Club and Alumni tour of Albright’s Public Art Workshop
10:30 a.m., TexpL site at 11th and Rockland Streets. Free
Michael L. Miller, artist in residence, guides guests through a tour of works in progress and his unique method for producing the colorful and cultural murals blooming in Reading, West Reading and beyond.

50+ Club luncheon | Class of 1973 induction
12 p.m., McMillan Student Center, south lounge. $20
All alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago are invited to attend this luncheon, including the class of 1973 for induction into the 50+ Club.

West Reading murals walking tour
3 p.m., Bus to West Reading departs from the main lot at 13th and Bern streets. Free
Upon arrival in West Reading, Michael L. Miller, artist in residence at Albright College, leads participants on a walking tour of murals gracing the streets of town. After the tour, attendees may choose to return directly to the Albright campus or join a Homecoming kick-off party in West Reading. The bus will return at 6 p.m.

Society of Black Alumni Student and Alumni Basketball Tournament
5 p.m., Scholl Lifesports Center. Free
Come on out to play a spirited round of basketball and challenge Albright students to a game with their alumni—may the best group win!

Athletics Hall of Fame reception and dinner
6 p.m., Schumo Center Red & White room and lobby.
Reception: Red & White Room at 6 p.m. Dinner: Schumo Center Lobby at 7 p.m. Call the athletics office at 610-921-7535 to make your reservation.

Freedman Gallery
9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Free
Plan to visit Albright’s Freedman Gallery while you are on campus for Homecoming. Visit the Center for the Arts page to learn more about the fabulous exhibitions on display during Homecoming–a great opportunity to experience our wonderful gallery. Special swag items will be available to enhance your visit!

Student Success Commons & Library Commemoration Event of Phase One Launch
10-10:30 a.m., rear of the former Gingrich Library, rain location Student Center, South Lounge, Free

Lion Pride Picnic
10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Great Lawn in front of Selwyn Hall. $12 for anyone over 9 years of age, kids 8 and under eat free!
Pick a spot under the beautiful Albright trees and have a fun day with your Albright friends and your family. Entertainment starts at 10:30 and is ongoing until 2 p.m. Request your favorite songs from DJ Matt Zimmerman ’22!

Picnic Highglights
10:30 a.m.: KooKoo the Cartoon Magician
11:30 a.m.: Buccaneer Brass!
12 p.m.: DJ and open mic — music you will want to dance to!
12 p.m.: Football game begins
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. ongoing: Face painting, photo booth and more!

Homecoming Tailgating
Come cheer for the Lions and join halftime festivities — the crowning of the Homecoming King & Queen and Induction of Hall of Famers Ted Agurkis ’70, Victoria Foanio ’14, Eric Kramer ’11 and Chris Sheerer ’11.
Tailgating locations this year: 11 a.m.–4 p.m., Turtle Dome: In gated athletics parking lot. $30 for a spot, walk-ins are free. Watch the game while you tail gate (park close by). 21 or older may participate. CHILDREN AND UNDER 21 WILL NOT BE ADMITTED. No pets, grills or glass containers please. See complete guidelines when reserving your spot. Lion Pride Family-Friendly Tailgating: 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Main Parking lot at 13th and Bern Street. $30 to reserve a spot, walk-ins are free. Bring your kids and enjoy tailgating with your family and friends. Participants are asked to follow guidelines for conduct, available to review when reserving your space.

Albright football vs. FDU Florham
12 p.m., Shirk Stadium. Free tickets for alumni—please register in advance.
The first 200 fans will receive an Albright foam hand!

Xion Dance Team Car Wash
1 – 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot between Wells Fargo and the WXAC building.
Support the dance team and drive around campus sparkling and in style!

Campus tour
2:30 p.m., Depart from Pushman Cottage. Free
An interactive tour full of memories and new Albright sights and sounds, led by an Alumni Association Board member and a Lion Diplomat.

Women’s soccer vs. King’s College
5 p.m., Shirk Stadium. Free

Men’s soccer vs. Penn State University, Brandywine
7:30 p.m., Shirk Stadium. Free

Saturday Reunions

Please see registration page for your reunion plans! The Alumni Office encourages alumni to bring children, grandchildren and families to the Lion Pride picnic, Family-Friendly tailgating and football game, where activities and fun await! Please note: children are prohibited from attending the cocktail party and reunion dinners,.

All-Alumni Cocktail Party PLEASE NOTE NEW LOCATION!
4 p.m., Due to the forecast for potential rain on Saturday afternoon, the cocktail party is moving from Sylvan Pond to the McMillan Student Center, Main Lounge.  $25
Class reunions from zero to fifty – 2023, 2018, 2013, 2008, 2003, 1998, 1993, 1988, 1983, 1978 and 1973 – will participate in an All Alumni cocktail party at the pond. Appetizers, wine and beer will be served! For the first time you will have the opportunity to take a quaff of our own Albright Ale, provided by Knute Mellon ’00 from his Blondes and Brewnettes Brewery. Enjoy live music by the student and alumni band Bad Publicity. All alumni are invited to attend!

Lion Pride Reunion
6 p.m., McMillan Student Center Dining Hall, unless otherwise noted below. $35 Come together with LION PRIDE for fun, nostalgia and camaraderie at our all alumni group reunion! Celebrate your special year with a delectable array of dishes to please every palate and preference. All alumni are invited to attend.

Class of 1983
4 p.m. – participate in the All Alumni cocktail party at 4 p.m. followed by a 40th reunion celebration in South Lounge at 6 p.m.

Class of 1993
4 p.m. – participate in the All Alumni cocktail party at 4 p.m. followed by a 30th reunion celebration off campus at B2Bistro, 701 Reading Avenue, West Reading, Pa.

Nursing Program Reunion
Alumni from Albright’s nursing program will celebrate at the Lion Pride Picnic and will gather there from 11 – 2. Please register for the picnic and watch for our signs upon your arrival at the picnic! At 8 p.m., a rousing game of class year trivia will follow the reunion dinner. Show those other classes who is in the know and win great prizes!! Free!
