Re-Imagined Homecoming Weekend 2020 Recap – Albright College

Re-Imagined Homecoming Weekend 2020 Recap

Over 300 alumni and friends took part in the first ever Albright College Re-Imagined Homecoming Weekend from Fri., Sept. 25 to Sun., Sept. 27.

Albrightians attended live virtual events including class year reunions (“Zoom-bombed” by the Albright Lion), singing of the alma mater and the Song for Albright with current Albright choir students, a presentation on industrial hemp by alumnus Steve Groff, M.D. ’87, a Service of Remembrance honoring Albrightians who died over the last year and a tour of the current Freedman Gallery exhibits.

Additional pre-recorded content and activities included a presidential campus update, a tour of campus and surrounding Reading, student presentations of Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE) projects and a rebroadcast of the 2017 Albright Lions’ football overtime win vs. Salisbury.

This year’s virtual celebration featured alumni Zooming in from all over the United States – some as close as our home area of Berks County, Pa., and others as far away as California, Washington, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Massachusetts.

Save the date for next year’s homecoming celebration: September 24-26, 2021! In addition to celebrating reunions for classes ending in 1s and 6s, all classes who celebrated reunions in 2020 (classes ending in 0s and 5s) will be invited to join us for in-person reunion events at Homecoming 2021.
