Q & A with the director of The Fund for Albright
Get to know Caitlin Kamerer, who joined the alumni and donor engagement team this summer.
1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Cary, North Carolina!
2. Where did you go to college?
I attended Troy University where I received my bachelor’s degree in communication arts with a minor in leadership and went on to Spring Hill College where I received a master’s in liberal arts with a minor in leadership and ethics.
3. What other jobs did you hold before coming to Albright?
My career in development started while I was attending Troy University! I was a phonathon caller, trainer and manager! While at Troy, I was able to learn about the many hats worn by those in this field. Previously, I was the assistant director of annual giving at Spring Hill College where I was able to gain more experience in annual giving.
4. What are you responsible for as the director of The Fund for Albright?
As the director of The Fund for Albright, I am responsible for strategic planning and overall management of the annual fund. The annual fund goes to help award scholarships to our amazing students, classroom innovations, research opportunities and more! It is important that I sustain, steward and increase total giving to the Fund for Albright!
5. What do you like the most about Albright?
My favorite thing about Albright College is the people that make up Albright! Each community member, whether they be a student, faculty or staff member, shares with me why they love Albright and that list is infinite!
6. What are you looking forward to the most as the director of The Fund for Albright?
I am very excited for the Albright Challenge which is on March 5, 2020! This is an 18 hour and 56 minute fundraising campaign where we come together as a community to support something we love!
7. Anything else we should know about you?
I have a Great Dane named Captain. I enjoy traveling, fresh markets, yoga, hiking and deep conversation!
