Summer 2019 Albright Costa Rica Tour
The Albright College Alumni Association announces a new ecotourism trip to Costa Rica during summer 2019 for alumni, faculty, students and friends.
Rich in biodiversity and steeped in a culture that blends numerous international influences, Costa Rica offers countless opportunities to observe unique natural treasures. We’ll explore several ecologically-significant areas, including the Arenal volcano, an organic coffee plantation and Albright’s educational property, Case de Gratitude at Rio de Suenos, a five acre plot nestled at the base of the mountains just a few miles from the Pacific coastline. Nature walks with a bilingual guide, Costa Rican cuisine and information on Costa Rican ecology, culture and history will be offered at each stop.
Arranged through Tayra Travels and lead by Stephen Mech, Ph.D., the cost of the trip is $3,000 and includes round-trip airfare from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and all expenses including meals, lodging, admission to parks and resorts, ground transportation in Costa Rica, a bilingual guide and tips. The deadline for payment is April 15, 2019. The trip is limited to 13 people.
Travel dates are July 20 to 27, 2019.
Casa de Gratitude at Rio de Suenos was donated by alumnus Max Jackson ’75 in 2014 and has since provided students with opportunities to study abroad and take part in research projects and field studies.
