Directions & Parking

By Air

From Philadelphia International Airport, Interstate 95 south to Interstate 476 north to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, then follow directions from East via the Pennsylvania Turnpike below. The travel time will usually be approximately 90 minutes.

By Bus

The city of Reading can be reached by Greyhound, Capitol Trailways and Bieber Bus. Reading’s bus terminal is located at the intersection of 3rd and Penn Streets, five minutes from Albright’s campus. The bus terminal is open Monday through Friday from 4:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; weekends from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and from 4:45 a.m. to 5 a.m. on weekends for the early bus.

For departure and arrival times, or more information, call 610-374-3182. Taxi service and the local bus service, BARTA (Berks Area Reading Transportation Authority), provide transportation from the terminal to campus for a minimal cost. For information about BARTA, call 610-921-0601.

By Car

  • If using a GPS device, enter 1350 Bern Street, Reading, PA, as your destination.
  • Click here for directions via Google Maps. (Directions via Yahoo! Maps and MapQuest are NOT CORRECT. Do not use them to visit Albright.)

FROM THE NORTHWEST, VIA ROUTES 80 AND 61:

  • Follow Interstate 80 west to the Danville exit. and take Route 54 south to Route 61 south.

FROM UPPER NEW YORK STATE AND THE NORTH VIA THE PENNSLVANIA TURNPIKE NORTHEAST EXTENSION:

  • Follow Interstate 81 south to exit 194, for Interstate 476, the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
  • Follow Interstate 476 south to Interstate 78 west.
  • Pick up directions FROM THE NORTHEAST, VIA INTERSTATE 78, below.

FROM THE NORTHEAST, VIA INTERSTATE 78:

  • Follow Interstate 78 west to Pennsylvania exit 54A, Route 222.
  • Follow Route 222 south toward Reading and exit onto Business 222 south toward Laureldale and Center City Reading.
  • Follow Business 222 south for approximately 6 miles and exit left onto Route 12 east toward Pricetown.
  • Follow Route 12 east to the first exit, for 11th Street. Bear right at the bottom of the ramp into 11th Street.
  • At the first traffic light, turn left onto Rockland Street. Proceed 2 blocks to the next traffic light and turn right onto 13th Street.
  • Follow 13th Street 2 blocks and turn left onto Bern Street, then make an immediate right into the parking lot. Proceed to the far end of the lot and park in one of the spots designated for Admission guests.

FROM THE NORTH, VIA ROUTE 61 SOUTH

  • Follow Route 61 south into Leesport and turn left onto Route 73 east.
  • Follow Route 73 east approximately 3 miles and turn right onto Route 222 south.
  • Keep left to proceed onto Business 222 south toward Laureldale and Center City Reading.
  • Follow Business 222 south for approximately 6 miles and exit left onto Route 12 east toward Pricetown.
  • Follow Route 12 east to the first exit, for 11th Street. Bear right at the bottom of the ramp into 11th Street.
  • At the first traffic light, turn left onto Rockland Street. Proceed 2 blocks to the next traffic light and turn right onto 13th Street.
  • Follow 13th Street 2 blocks and turn left onto Bern Street, then make an immediate right into the parking lot. Proceed to the far end of the lot and park in one of the spots designated for Admission guests.

FROM THE SOUTH, VIA INTERSTATE 83 NORTH

  • Follow Interstate 83 north to exit 21A, Route 30 East.
  • Follow Route 30 east to Route 222 north.
  • Follow Route 222 north into the Reading area.
  • Just past the Berkshire Mall, continue straight onto Route 12 east; DO NOT exit for Route 222 north toward Allentown.
  • Follow Route 12 east approximately 2.5 miles to the 11th Street exit. Bear right at the bottom of the ramp into 11th Street.
  • At the first traffic light, turn left onto Rockland Street. Follow Rockland Street 2 blocks to the next traffic light and turn right onto 13th Street.
  • Follow 13th Street 2 blocks and turn left onto Bern Street, then make an immediate right into the parking lot. Proceed to the far end of the lot and park in one of the spots designated for Admission guests.

FROM THE EAST, VIA THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE/INTERSTATE 76 WEST

  • Follow the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Interstate 76 west to exit 298, Morgantown.
  • After the tollbooth, stay straight onto Interstate 176 north.
  • Follow Interstate 176 north to Route 422 west, toward Reading.
  • Follow Route 422 west approximately 2 miles and take the exit for Route 12 east toward Pricetown.
  • Follow Route 12 east approximately 2.5 miles to the 11th Street exit. Bear right at the bottom of the ramp into 11th Street.
  • At the first traffic light, turn left onto Rockland Street. Follow Rockland Street 2 blocks to the next traffic light and turn right onto 13th Street.
  • Follow 13th Street 2 blocks and turn left onto Bern Street, then make an immediate right into the parking lot. Proceed to the far end of the lot and park in one of the spots designated for Admission guests.

FROM THE WEST, VIA INTERSTATE 81 NORTH:

  • Follow Interstate 81 north to Interstate 78 east.
  • Follow Interstate 78 east to exit 19, toward Strausstown.
  • Follow Route 183 south approximately 20 miles to Reading. You will pass the Reading Municipal Airport on your left as you near Reading.
  • Continue on Route 183 for 1.3 miles past the airport and follow the signs for Route 12 east.
  • At the second light, turn right onto Lehigh Street.
  • Proceed to the first stop sign and bear right without stopping onto Butler Street
  • Proceed to the next stop sign and turn right onto Route 12 east.
  • Follow Route 12 east approximately 2 miles to the 11th Street exit. Bear right at the bottom of the ramp into 11th Street.
  • At the first traffic light, turn left onto Rockland Street. Follow Rockland Street 2 blocks to the next traffic light and turn right onto 13th Street.
  • Follow 13th Street 2 blocks and turn left onto Bern Street, then make an immediate right into the parking lot. Proceed to the far end of the lot and park in one of the spots designated for Admission guests.

FROM THE WEST, VIA THE PENNSLYVANIA TURNPIKE/INTERSTATE 76 EAST:

  • Follow the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Interstate 76 east to exit 286, Reading-Ephrata.
  • After the tollbooth, turn right onto Route 222 north.
  • Follow Route 222 north into the Reading area.
  • Just past the Berkshire Mall, continue straight onto Route 12 east; DO NOT exit for Route 222 north toward Allentown.
