First-Year Student Enrollment

Congrats on your acceptance to Albright. We’re excited that you’ll be joining us this fall! To help you prepare for your On Boarding day in June or July, we’ve created this website to introduce you to online registration in our Self Service portal. We encourage you to review the information on this site to help ensure you have a smooth registration process during your summer on boarding.

First, be sure you’ve completed your Course Preferences form in your Student eDocs account. This is the first step so you’re prepared for your On Boarding Day.

Where do I go to register?

All students register for classes in Self Service. Self Service is directly accessible using this link and always available on the Current Students webpage. You should log in to Self Service using your Albright username and password. You were sent these via email from Digital Strategy and Infrastructure. If you have any problems logging in, please contact the DSI Help Desk at helpdesk@albright.edu.

How do I know which classes to take?

You’ll receive an email from Admissions the day before your On Boarding Day is scheduled. That email will direct you to your Lion’s Den Portal where you’ll find an On Boarding Registration Plan document. This document will detail which courses you should enroll in during your first semester, taking your major and course choices from your Course Preferences Form into account.

How do I change my schedule?

Registration will begin at 5:00 PM on your scheduled On Boarding Day. You will be able to change your schedule until 12:00 PM (noon) the day following your scheduled On Boarding Day until all of the On Boarding Days are complete. At that time, we’ll reopen registration to allow you to make changes for the remainder of the summer through drop/add during the first week of the fall semester.

  5. Confirm you want to drop the course and Self Service will process your drop.
  6. The course is no longer in your “My Schedule” area.

Additional FAQs

While the information above serves as an introduction to scheduling your courses for your first semester, you may have additional questions about registration in general. Below you’ll find some additional registration information.

Each course at Albright is worth 1 unit (4 credits). The minimum course load to be considered a full time student is 3 units (12 credits), but most students will enroll in 4 units (16 credits) during their first semester. These 4 units are defined on your On Boarding Registration Plan (located in your Lion’s Den Portal) under the First, Second, Third, and Fourth headings. In addition, you may choose to enroll in additional electives such as band, chorus, orchestra, etc., which do not count toward your recommended 4 units.

Classes are offered on varying days of the week and at varying times, but most courses will be offered either 3 days per week for 50 minutes for each course period (e.g. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM) or 2 days per week for 80 minutes for each course period (e.g., Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 AM – 10:50 AM). A few courses may be offered just one day per week for a 3-hour period (e.g., Monday from 6:00 PM – 8:50 PM). You can craft your schedule to be enrolled in courses based upon availability and what works best for you. Some courses are only offered once per semester while others may have multiple offerings.

Yes, you can walk between academic buildings in the 10 minute time period between classes.

Some of our courses have a lecture and lab section. You’ll need to register for both at the same time in order to process your registration. The lab sections have a “L” at the end of the course number (e.g., BIO151 is the lecture and BIO151L is the lab). You should add both to your cart before processing your registration.

When you attend your On Boarding Day, you’ll meet with a Registration Guide who will help you connect your anticipated AP, IB, or dual enrollment credit with our curriculum. Your Registration Guide will let you know if you need to make any adjustments to your On Boarding Registration Plan. You’ll also need to ensure your credit is sent to Albright. For AP or IB tests, please make sure you’ve listed Albright College as an institution who should receive your test scores. You can also view the AP tests we accept for credit; we require a score of 4 or higher in order to award credit. For dual enrollment credit, you’ll need to request an official transcript be sent from the other institution to Albright College in order to receive credit.
