First-Year Student Enrollment
Congrats on your acceptance to Albright. We’re excited that you’ll be joining us this fall! To help you prepare for your On Boarding day in June or July, we’ve created this website to introduce you to online registration in our Self Service portal. We encourage you to review the information on this site to help ensure you have a smooth registration process during your summer on boarding.
First, be sure you’ve completed your Course Preferences form in your Student eDocs account. This is the first step so you’re prepared for your On Boarding Day.
Where do I go to register?
All students register for classes in Self Service. Self Service is directly accessible using this link and always available on the Current Students webpage. You should log in to Self Service using your Albright username and password. You were sent these via email from Digital Strategy and Infrastructure. If you have any problems logging in, please contact the DSI Help Desk at helpdesk@albright.edu.
How do I know which classes to take?
You’ll receive an email from Admissions the day before your On Boarding Day is scheduled. That email will direct you to your Lion’s Den Portal where you’ll find an On Boarding Registration Plan document. This document will detail which courses you should enroll in during your first semester, taking your major and course choices from your Course Preferences Form into account.
How do I search for classes?
Self Service offers a variety of advanced search options to help you located specific courses. Any of the search options demonstrated below can be combined for more powerful searches (e.g., searching for online Humanities General Education courses). Once you are logged in to Self Service, you can search using the directions below.
Basic Search – Specific Course (prior to registration)
- From Self Service, select Search > Section from the top navigation menu.
- Enter a specific course (e.g., ENG101) in the course code box.
- Select the Period – 2021/Fall
- Select the Session – 01
- Click the Search button.
Basic Search – Specific Course (during registration)
- Select Registration>Courses from the top menu.
- Select “Advanced Search” to search for specific courses.
- Select 2021/Fall for the Period and 01 for the Session.
- Enter a specific course (e.g., ENG101) in the course code box.
- Click the Search button.
Basic Search – Specific Subject
- From Self Service, select Search > Section from the top navigation menu.
- Enter a specific subject (e.g., ENG) in the course code box.
- Select the Period – 2021/Fall
- Select the Session – 01
- Click the Search button.
Advanced Search – General Education
- From Self Service, select Search > Section from the top navigation menu.
- Select Advanced Search.
- On the Advanced Search menu, select the Period (2021 Fall Semester), Session (01), and General Education (whatever you want to search for) to find courses that meet specific General Education requirements.
How do I register?
You’ll register for courses in Self Service. After you log in:
- Select Registration>Courses from the top menu.
- Select “Advanced Search” to search for specific courses. Be sure to select 2021 Fall for the Period and 01 for the Session.
- Use the search options to search for a specific course (e.g., ENG101).
- Once you find the section you want, click the “Add” button to place the course in your cart.
- The course will appear in your cart.
- Click the “Register” button at the bottom of your cart to enroll.
- Your “My Schedule” area will display courses with successful registration in green. Courses in your shopping cart remain yellow.
- If your registration is unsuccessful, an error message will be displayed. The course will remain in your cart.
- You are not registered for a course until you see the “Registered” message and the course displays as green.

How do I change my schedule?
Registration will begin at 5:00 PM on your scheduled On Boarding Day. You will be able to change your schedule until 12:00 PM (noon) the day following your scheduled On Boarding Day until all of the On Boarding Days are complete. At that time, we’ll reopen registration to allow you to make changes for the remainder of the summer through drop/add during the first week of the fall semester.
To drop a course
- Log in to Self Service
- Select Registration>Courses from the top menu.
- Click the trashcan icon next to any registered course under “My Schedule.”
- Self Service will ask you to confirm that you want to drop that course. Once you drop a course, you will have to re-register for the course (space available) if you decide you want to enroll in it again.
- Confirm you want to drop the course and Self Service will process your drop.
- The course is no longer in your “My Schedule” area.
To add a course
To add more courses to your schedule, follow the directions above under “How do I register?”
What else can I do in Self Service?
