Employee Benefits

Albright provides all employees with benefits required by Federal law which includes Social Security, Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Compensation. The College will also provide regular full-time employees with benefits that include, but are not limited to: health, prescription, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance; a flexible spending account (FSA), holiday pay, paid time off, and a retirement plan. Pro-rated benefits may be available for employees who consistently work 30 hours per week during the course of a 10-month or 12-month work year. Details can be provided through the Office of Human Resources.The following is a brief description of our current benefits program. This is only an overview. The benefits described below are more fully described in summary plan descriptions and plan documents. Where there is a conflict between the overview or any other description of benefits, the plan documents will control.

Medical benefits are effective the first of the month following 45 days from the date of hire. All other applicable benefits will be effective the first of the month following 90 days from hire date (introductory period) unless otherwise specified.

Additional time off: Albright observes “summer hours” which means our offices close 3 hours early on Fridays in the summer. Employees are paid for their full shift.


Vacation

Albright College offers a competitive Vacation Time program for its full-time staff that can range from 2-4 weeks of paid time off. Details on this program can be obtained from the Office of Human Resources. In addition to our traditional schedule of paid time off, eligible employees will receive an additional 2 paid personal leave days per year.


Paid Sick Time

Paid sick time (or salary continuation) is available to full-time employees after the completion of an introductory period. Sick time is paid according to a specific accrual system, details of which can be obtained through the Office of Human Resources.


Medical Insurance

Albright provides employees with the option to participate in a group-sponsored health, prescription, dental and vision insurance program. This coverage is available to regular full-time employees who consistently work 30 hours per week in a 10 or 12 month period. We currently offer medical insurance through Capital Blue Cross.

Albright provides a contribution towards the cost of an employee’s individual health insurance coverage, and a contribution toward 2-party or family coverage. Specific rates may be discussed with a Human Resources representative.


Dental Insurance

Albright offers two dental plan options from Delta Dental, which is paid 100% by the individual electing coverage for themselves or for their eligible dependents:

Vision Insurance

Albright offers vision coverage through Vision Benefits of America (VBA), which is paid 100% by the individual electing coverage or for their eligible dependents:

Eye examinations are covered every 12 months; lenses, frames and contacts are covered every 24 months under the In-Network and Out-of-Network Schedule of Benefits.


Medical Flexible Spending Account

Albright College allows employees to save taxes on out-of-pocket medical expenses, including dental and vision expenses. Dependent expenses may be reimbursed even if you do not cover the dependent under the insured plan. The employee determines the amount to be withheld from their salary on a pre-tax basis, up to the plan maximum. This program is managed through Alternative Benefit Systems.


Dependent Flexible Spending Account

Under the Dependent Care account, you are able to deduct pre-tax dollars for work related childcare or adult day care expenses. The expenses must be incurred during the plan year. Both you and your spouse (if married) must be working or be a full-time student to have expenses eligible for payment through the Flexible Spending Account.


Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

Albright College offers an insurance plan that offers  two times your salary rounded up to the nearest $1,000 for life insurance and accidental death. The College pays the full cost of this benefit.


Long-Term Disability Insurance

The College pays the full cost of this benefit. The benefit pays 60% of your base pay not to exceed $6,000.00 per month, less the sum of benefits from other sources.  Benefits are payable as of the first day of the month following three months of continuous total disability, if qualifying conditions are met.


Retirement Savings Plan

You are eligible for participation in the College retirement program, through TIAA-CREF, following one year of service and the attainment of the age 21. If you have been a participant in the plan prior to employment at Albright College you would then be eligible to participate immediately. To participate in the retirement plan the employee must contribute 5% of their gross regular salary and Albright will then contribute 10% of your gross regular salary.


Tuition Exchange

Subject to a several criteria and availability, employees are eligible to enroll their tax dependent children in the tuition exchange program after three years of full-time service with Albright College. This benefit allows for the tax dependent children to apply for undergraduate tuition discounts at other participating educational institutions. Please contact Human Resources for more information, and a full listing of Colleges and Universities that participate in our exchange program.


Tuition Remission

One of our most generous benefit offerings is our Tuition Remission program. Full-time employees who work 37.5 or more hours per week are eligible to enroll themselves and their spouses in the tuition remission program after one year of service, and dependent children under the age of 25 after three years of full-time service. Following the completion of a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form, this benefit allows for a waiver of all undergraduate tuition costs incurred at Albright College (room, board, text, and other applicable fees are not included).


Tuition Remission – Graduate Studies

Regular full-time employees are eligible for tuition remission benefits for graduate studies (subject to policy provisions) effective for the semester or session that commences after the employee has completed one year of full-time, continuous service with the College. Participation may be approved for eligible employees who have earned a bachelor’s degree and who meet the stated educational requirements of the graduate program.


Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The College provides three free counseling sessions per year for employees and their household dependents through Inroads at Family Guidance Center, a local EAP provider. Inroads offers assistance on a wide range of issues including marital and family, parent/child conflicts, psychological and emotional troubles, grief counseling, financial problems, alcohol/drug treatment and legal access plan. Liberty Mutual Insurance

You may purchase low-cost, high-quality insurance protection from the nation’s most respected and largest property-casualty insurance at a discounted rate through Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.


Federal Credit Union

Albright College is a member of the Visions Federal Credit Union.  All employees may take advantage of membership to this credit union. To join you must go to the credit union to complete the necessary application and to receive the most recent rate information.


Wells Fargo At Work Program

“At Work” is a special membership program made available to you by Wells Fargo as an employee of Albright College. Free checking, high performance Money Market Funds and Certificates of Deposit additional rate reductions are presented.


Santander At Work Program

“At Work” is a special membership program made available to employees of Albright by Santander Bank.


Payroll Direct Deposit

Albright College provides direct deposit of payroll checks to the institution of your choice.


FREE College Parking

Parking is free at Albright College. As a member of the College community employees may park in one of the designated College lots once obtaining a parking permit.


FREE Gym Membership

Your College ID card will admit you to many College sporting events and facilities, including FREE membership to our gym, The Schumo Center.
