The staff of Media Services would like to welcome you to Albright College’s Media Services webpages.

We are prepared to assist you with the use of audio visual tools in pursuit of your academic needs. We provide individual training on equipment & classroom technology, audio visual setup services and can provide you with equipment for your use through our equipment reservation inventory.


Equipment and Classroom Technology Training

Media Services offers one-on-one and small group training on Albright’s classroom technology. We also provide instruction on equipment in our loaning inventory. To request an appointment for training, contact the IT Services Helpdesk & Media Services line at (610) 921-7676 or email helpdesk@albright.edu with your request. Please provide us your specific training needs. We will research classroom and technology availability and arrange for a time to meet with you.


Media Services Audio Visual Equipment Set-up Services

Media Services provides equipment set-ups for classroom instruction during regularly scheduled class hours. There are many times in the year when Media Services loaner equipment is in high demand. If you are planning a class or event that needs equipment from the loaner inventory, it is best that you make a reservation well in advance (several weeks) of the event. To properly process your request we ask that you submit your equipment reservation by emailing Client Services at helpdesk@albright.edu no fewer than 3 days in advance of your event. If you are requesting equipment in fewer than 3 days please call Client Services (610)921-7676.

If your event location or time occurs outside of a classroom or regular class hours, please contact the Facilities department for support. Albright’s Facilities Department provides the Events Setup Request Form for your non class related request. Please call or contact us if you have any questions about who to request support from for you event. We will be happy to help guide you through the process.


Media Services Loaner Inventory

Media Services maintains an inventory of audio visual tools, digital cameras, camcorders, tripods, projectors, laptops and other items. If you are looking to borrow equipment from our inventory, please submit your equipment reservation by emailing Client Services at helpdesk@albright.edu no fewer than 3 days in advance of your event. If you are requesting equipment in fewer than 3 days please call Client Services (610)921-7676.


CCM Computer Labs

Location & Availability

The primary student-use academic computer labs on the Albright College campus are located on the first floor of the Center for Computing and Mathematics (“CCM”) in rooms 100D and 100F.

When these rooms are not in use by a class they are available for student and employee use. The CCM lab hours are listed here.

Printing

There is presently no charge for printing documents in student computer labs or in the Library, but you are restricted to a limit of printing 60 pages per day.

IT Services Helpdesk & Media Services maintains a schedule for the computer lab in the Center for Computing and Mathematics (CCM). Request for semester long use of a CCM lab for a class should be directed to the Registrar’s Office. If you wish to schedule the use of a lab for an individual session please contact us at (610) 921-7676 or email helpdesk@albright.edu with your request.

Information, Procedures and Policies


Classroom Technology Inventory

There are over sixty classrooms, laboratories, academic and meeting spaces on Albright College’s main campus in Reading. These pages include information on the technology available in rooms that are used as academic support spaces.

Our classrooms are categorized into 4 separate tiers depending on the type of technology that is installed in the room.

Tier 0 Classroom: These rooms have a basic level of technology installed. A ceiling mounted projector with audio and video cable connections are available.

Tier 1 Classroom: These rooms have a full podium with a push button control panel for switching input devices and volume control. A built-in PC, Blu-ray/DVD player, document camera, and HDMI/VGA connections for laptops are standard in these rooms. The rooms will have either one projector or one HDTV display.

Tier 2 Classroom: These rooms have a full podium with a touch screen control panel for switching input devices and volume control. A built-in PC, Blu-ray/DVD player, document camera, and HDMI/VGA connections for laptops are standard in these rooms. The rooms will have two projectors or two HDTV displays. The AV systems in these rooms are also capable of displaying 2 different input images simultaneously.

Tier 3 Classroom: A built-in PC, Blu-ray/DVD player, document camera, and HDMI/VGA connections for laptops are standard in these rooms. The control panel used to switch input devices and control volume may be push button or touch screen. The technology installed in these rooms is meant to explore new, innovative ways of using technology in a classroom setting.
