Summer 2017 Happenings

New Faces in IT Services

Brad Rockowicz

Brad joined the team in February as an Instructional Designer and assists faculty in the development and implementation of educational technology solutions for online/hybrid courses. He studied Business and Computer Science at Shippensburg University. In his spare time, Brad enjoys playing guitar and cycling.

The Help Desk is now Client Services!

IT Services has consolidated the Help Desk and Technology Solutions Specialist teams into one group: Client Services. You can still reach us at 610-921-7676, but please begin emailing us at clientservices@albright.edu (email to clientservices@albright.edu will still reach us for the next six months).

If you need to find us in the Center for Computing and Mathematics, you may notice the old desk is missing. Please come find us in room 100E, but also feel free to stop by the new lounge in the lobby. Have a seat and use it as a place to work or study.

Wireless Upgrade Complete

Last summer all residence halls were equipped with new higher capacity wireless access points.  This summer, all academic and administrative buildings on Reading campus were upgraded with higher capacity wireless access points as well.  This successfully concludes our multi-year wireless upgrade project.

You should still be able to connect to the wireless network as you have in the past. The ‘Albright’ network will still use your Albright username and password, and ‘Albright-PSK’ will still use the PSK password available on our Sharepoint site.

**You may need to forget and reconnect to the Albright or Albright-PSK networks if you have trouble connecting your first time back on campus.

Please note that guests on campus can now self-register for a 24-hour account on the Guest Wireless network. There is no need to contact IT Services ahead of time to request network access for your guests. Users connecting to Albright Guest will now be directed to a page where they will be prompted for verification.  Once verification is complete, they will automatically gain 24-hour access to guest wireless network (where available).

Classroom Updates

VGA is going away! These cables have been removed in many of our classrooms in the interest of making use of digital signals over HDMI and Display Port connections. For details about technology in a classroom as well as helpful instructions for getting started with these tools, find your classroom on our classrooms page to learn more.

As mentioned above CCM 100E is now the home of Client Services (formerly the Help Desk) and is no longer a classroom.
