The course announcement tool lets you communicate with the whole class at once, like email, but the message remains in the course for students to access at any time. Every Moodle shell comes pre-loaded with the announcement tool. When you post an announcement, students will automatically be notified by email.
On your course page, click Announcements.
Click Add a new topic.
Fill in the Subject field. This will become a link on the Announcements page that students will click to read this announcement. Type or paste your message in the message field. Click Post to forum.
You will now see your announcement added to the Announcements page.
