The PMPEI Course in Zoning
The PMPEI Course in Zoning is a 3-session in-depth “nuts and bolts” course in the drafting, amending, administering, and monitoring of zoning ordinances. Course topics include the MPC authority for zoning, the importance of the “Police Power” and comprehensive plans as the basis for zoning, basic and advanced zoning techniques such as overlay and performance zoning, flexible regulatory techniques such as planned residential and traditional neighborhood development regulations. Ordinance reviews, mapping problems, and special zoning issues are also included in the course.

Who Should Attend:This course is intended primarily for new planning commissioners, but is also helpful for experienced planning commissioners, elected officials, zoning board members, professional planners and other individuals interested in this topic.

Class fee $110
CLE Credits – Attorneys will receive 9 CLE units for attendance at all three sessions. Please add $65.

Master Planner Certification & Continuing Education Units
Participants will receive 9 hours of credit toward Master Planner certification by the Berks County Planning Commission. Attorneys are eligible for 9 Continuing Legal Education Units (CLE), and Code Enforcement Officials are eligible for 9 continuing education credits.
