Pre-med students to work with Berks Community Health Center
Pre-medicine students at Albright College are now able to take part in credited, on-site clinical scribe experiences at Berks Community Health Center’s newest location on Rockland Street.
The Rockland Street location is just steps away from Albright College, and located in the same plaza as the school’s Rockland (residence) Hall. The health center features 40 rooms for medical and pediatric exams, as well as optometry, podiatry and other specialty care.
Albright College’s scribes program allows pre-med students to work directly with physicians while gaining first-hand knowledge in maintaining medical records, coordinating medical testing and communicating with families and medical professionals.
Berks Community Health Center’s nonprofit facilities in the city of Reading provide high-quality health care to anyone, regardless of ability to pay. In addition to Rockland Street in northeast Reading, other locations include downtown Penn Street, central North Second Street, and the Oakbrook area of southwest Reading.
The new affiliation agreement is designed to provide Albright College students with onsite supervised clinical educational experiences for academic college credit.
