Student Travel Funding

The Undergraduate Research Committee is pleased to announce that funding is now available for student travel to academic conferences. When awarding funds, preference will be given to students giving scholarly presentations or artistic exhibitions. Due to the limited funds available, a cap of $600.00 will be placed on each proposal. However, we ask that you itemize all your expenses regardless of the $600.00 cap. Interested students should, in consultation with their faculty sponsor, complete the form on this website. If you have any supporting documentation (e.g. paper acceptance letters) email them as an attachment in electronic format (MS Word document preferred) to the Undergraduate Research Committee at ugr@alb.edu. Please include the subject heading "student travel funding attachment your name". Any other information that cannot be placed in electronic format should be sent to the chair of the Undergraduate Research Committee via campus mail. Please note that funding will only be awarded for future activity, hence, retroactive requests will not be considered. If your grant request is approved by the Undergraduate Research Committee, several important reimbursement forms will need to be completed. These forms are available from the Business Office. If you are traveling outside a thirty mile radius, you must fill out a TRAVEL ADVANCE FORM one month prior to travel. For all manner of payments including cash advances, seminar registration, equipment, etc. a CHECK REQUESTmust be filled out with proper documentation attached (such as, a copy of registration, travel arrangements, invoices, etc.). In order to be processed, all forms must be presented to the Business Office ten working days before payment is needed. Upon conclusion of travel, an EXPENSE REPORT must be filled out within twenty days and submitted along with all receipts.

In addition, you are required to send a 1-page summary of your experience within two weeks following your event. Please send this to ugr@alb.edu.


Student Travel Deadlines

9/7, 10/26, 11/30, 2/22, 4/18 . The April 18 deadline includes activities through September 5 of the next academic year.
