Journalism Talent Awards
Albright College offers Journalism Talent Awards of $3,000 per year to students with outstanding journalistic talent. Journalism Talent Awards are independent of merit scholarships and need-based financial aid.
Journalism Talent Awards are given on the basis of an evaluation of written work used in newspapers, magazines or other print media. In order to be considered for talent awards, the student must have submitted a complete application for admission to Albright College.
Talent Review Process:
Portfolios and videos may be submitted for review by mail.
- Mail: Submissions should be sent to the Admission Office with an appropriately sized self-addressed, stamped return envelope. Submissions must be received on or before January 25, 2017. Send to:

Students being reviewed for a talent award will be informed of the decision on a rolling basis shortly after their audition.
Maintaining Your Talent Award
Journalism Talent Awards are renewable for four years with the following conditions:
Student recipients of Journalism Talent Awards must contribute regularly to the student newspaper, The Albrightian, or the student arts magazine, Albright AM. During the first week of each semester, students will meet with the director of the communications program to outline specific expectations. Typically, the work involves a combination of the following activities:
- Attending staff meetings
- Writing 300 word newspaper articles
- Writing feature articles
- Writing and producing radio news scripts
- Editing print publications
- Contributing to design and layout
Awards are renewable for four years of study at Albright. Students receiving these awards are free to pursue any major they wish. Please call (800)-252-1856 if you have any questions.
