TIP OF THE MONTH

September

You are NOT alone!

Having a hard time adjusting? You’re not alone! Try talking to other peers about what you miss from home; they might miss the same things! Adjusting to college can be harder than expected, but that doesn't mean give up! Becoming connected to campus and the people who live here can make everyday life here easier. There are plenty of clubs and organizations on campus that would be happy to have you. So, go out and join something you would like to be a part of that fits your schedule. Get out there and meet people with similar interests to you. It’s okay to miss your family and friends from home. Make sure you contact them from time to time to check in! You can always invite friends and family to come visit you too! Get out! Join something! Meet people! Exercise! Yoga and other exercises available at the Schumo Center are great ways to relieve stress and anxiety!

If you or a friend needs help adjusting to college life, coping with being homesick, or just need someone to talk to, call the Gable Health and Counseling Center at 610-921-7532, counselors are available Monday through Friday. You may also stop by the health center or to make an appointment with a counselor.
