November is Diabetes Awareness Month

There are over 18 million people in the United States who have diabetes nearly one third of them who are unaware they have diabetes.

There are a few different types of diabetes:

  • Type 1 - Is when the body fails to produce insulin. Insulin is needed for the body to be able to use sugar.
  • Type 2 - Is a result from insulin resistance. Where the body fails to properly use the insulin.
  • Pre-Diabetes - When a person's blood sugar is higher then normal levels but not high enough to be in the Type 2 stage.

Often diabetes is goes un-noticed because many of the symptoms seem so harmless. If you would like to learn more about diabetes please go to: http://www.diabetes.org
