Domino Players Production of Eurydice Selected to Perform at Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival
The Domino Players presented Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl at the Region II National Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) in January. The festival was held at Towson University in Maryland.
Eurydice was directed by Jeffrey Lentz '85, artist in residence, designed by artist Cocol Bernal, and under the technical supervision of Wayne Vettleson, with assistance from Billy Balmer '09. It was also nominated to the national festival. National judges will make the final selection in March.
Also winning awards were Tiffany Hernandez '11 of Effort, Pa., who brought home the regional award for dramaturgy and Albright's Virtual Black Box Group, a student organization, who won the regional award for graphic design.
Founded in 1969, the KCACTF involves more than 600 academic institutions across the country. Regional festivals showcase the finest of each region's entered productions. Judges nominate the highest-rated shows to the annual national festival at the Kennedy Center. The Domino Players' production of Waiting for Godot was selected for the national festival in 2007. The Ubu Project was nominated in 2004, but not selected for the national showing. All three productions were directed by Lentz and designed by Bernal. |
