The
Albright College
Choir, directed by
Adlai Binger, celebrated
the holiday
season with country
singer Kenny Rogers as they performed with him in his show,
Kenny Rogers and Friends Celebrate the
Season, at the Sovereign Center in Reading in December. Singers
Rebecca Lynn Howard and Billy Dean also performed in the show.
This is the second time the Albright Choir
has performed in this show.
The Choir provided back-up vocals for
Howard and Dean on the song “Let It Be
Christmas” by Alan Jackson during the first
half of the concert. They returned to the
stage during the second half to perform a
Christmas medley with Rogers. The medley
included a number of songs including
“Silent Night,” “Joy to the World” and
“O Holy Night.”
“Kenny seemed very pleased with our
performance, recognizing us at the end of
the show,” said choir member Jordan
Mauger ’06. “It was an honor just to be asked
to participate in such a prestigious event.”
Amy Lucas ’06 agreed, “I don’t
even
remember singing. I remember looking at
the crowd, looking at Kenny and just thinking...
my God, how did we get here?! It was
the experience of a lifetime.” |
