Albright's Winter Commencement

About 100 students graduated on December 14, 2002 in Albright’s first Winter Commencement in recent memory. Ceremonies were held in Memorial Chapel.
     Commencement speakers were Terrence E. Connor, Esq. ‘51 and George M. Meiser IX, who received honorary doctoral degrees in recognition of their significant contributions to Berks County, its residents and its history. Connor, attorney and partner in the Reading law firm of Austin, Boland, Connor and Georgi, and Albright College Trustee Emeritus has given lifelong volunteer service to the Berks community, especially its youth, and was president for 32 years of the Berks Historical Society. Meiser, educator and historian, is the official historian of Berks County, president of the Berks Historical Society and author of numerous publications on Berks history.
     As part of Berks County’s 250th Anniversary observances, Berks County Commissioner Judith L. Schwank presented Albright with a proclamation recognizing Albright’s contributions to the county since 1856.
