Albright has received two major gifts launching the $225,000 renovation
of Meridian Theatre in the Center for the Arts. A gift of $100,000
from Wachovia Foundation will rename the theatre Wachovia
Theatre. A $25,000 gift has been made by the Wyomissing Foundation
for the project.
An estimated 12,000 people attend events in Wachovia Theatre
annually. In a typical year, Albright presents our own Domino Players
productions, the Albright Performing Arts and Concert Series, the
Leo Camp Lecture Series, numerous student recitals, and many other
Experience events.
A multitude of regional community events are also presented in
the theatre throughout the year, such as performances of the Berks
JazzFest, lectures by the Pennsylvania Herbal Society and the local
United Methodist Church Conference, and plays produced by the Hispanic
Center of Reading.
For a gift of $500 donors may name a seat in the new
theatre for themselves or in honor of a loved one or special Albrightian.
For information about the theatre renovation project, or to make
a gift, contact Janice Johnson Luck 96, director of special
