On December 9, 2000, the work of a year-long fundraising effort came
together for the brothers of Zeta Omega Epsilon with dedication of the
entranceway to the Bollman Center, renamed the Zeta Omega Epsilon Entryway
of the George C. Bollman Center. The fraternity brothers raised more than $90,000 to renovate the entranceway
and hallway of the building in honor of their 95th Anniversary reunion
which was celebrated during Homecoming 1999. The Glenn A. Gerber '69 Press Box was also dedicated in recognition of
Gerber's financial leadership and commitment. The entranceway received new, brighter lighting, a reception desk, floor
tile with the Albright "A" in the middle, oak paneling, a "Hall
of Honor" featuring the plaques of the Hall of Fame recipients, and
a bronze Zeta Omega Epsilon plaque. Also new to the entranceway is a plaque in honor of Zeta brother Paul
Petrucka who died in the Battle of Midway. Norm Jowitt '38 dedicated his
gift to the fallen brother. A reception followed the dedication, prior to Albright's basketball game against Franklin & Marshall. During half-time, President Zimon honored the brotherhood of Zeta Omega Epsilon for their work and support. (Although F&M was ranked 23rd in the nation, Albright went on to beat them.) |
