|
Dr. P. Kenneth Nase, Albright Trustee, alumnus and long-time friend of Albright College died May 26. The husband of Jane M. (Masters) Nase, daughter of former Albright president Harry V. Masters, Dr. Nase presented the largest gift from a living donor in Albrights 144-year history in 1999. The gift established the Colleges first fully-endowed faculty chair, the Dr. P. Kenneth Nase Chair of Biology, held by Dr. Karen Campbell. |

Dr. Nase graduated from Albright in 1955 with a degree in biology. He served on the Board of Trustees since 1992, and chaired the enrollment committee. In 1997 he was awarded the Jacob Albright Award, the most prestigious award of the Albright Alumni Association. A long-time participant in the Albright Alumni Association and member of the executive committee, Dr. Nase was a strong advocate of the Colleges alumni program. In 1994, out of a passion for the alumni program and to insure its success, he purchased a new state-of-the-art alumni data system for the College. Upon graduating from Hahnemann University Medical School, Philadelphia
in 1959, he interned at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.,
and attended the Navy School of Aviation, where he served as a flight
surgeon. He is also survived by three daughters: Jane M. Nase Henderson, Charlotte, N.C.; Sara B. Nase Leidal, Downingtown, Chester County; and Margaret A. Nase Florio, Phoenixville, Chester County. Also surviving is a brother, Dr. Donald F. Nase, Telford, Montgomery County. A memorial service was held in Merner Pfeiffer Klein Memorial Chapel.
