Mystery
Solved This
portrait by Dietz was recently discovered in storage in the Bollman
Center. At first, the identity of the man in the painting was unknown.
Thanks to Albright librarian Sidney Dreese, the mystery has been
solved. The man in the painting is Elmer L. Mohn, ’02.
Mohn was a dedicated alumnus all his life. He served as the president
of the Alumni Association from 1929 to 1939, and founded the 50 Plus
Club in 1960. (Photo

Sam
Codi ’42
treasures this painting by Dietz, titled “Dan’s Place,” which
Dietz gave him as a gift. Codi played football for Dietz for four years
and remained close friends with him throughout his life. Codi also
purchased two other paintings from Dietz, “No Welcoming Wife,” a
painting of an Indian coming home with his donkey, and “Arizona
Storm Fence,” a desert scene. (Photo
