History

Four-hundred seven new students entered Albright this fall; the largest number of new students in Albright's history. Seventy-three U.S. minorities and 15 international students are among those who entered.

At a Convocation ceremony held in the Bollman Center in September, each new student was "pinned" by a member of the faculty welcoming them into the Albright family.

Albright's total enrollment of 1,339 full-time day students includes 171 U.S. minorities and 81 international students from countries including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Spain, France, Russia, Bolivia, Turkey, Bahamas, Morocco, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Dominican Republic, Chile, Taiwan, Trinidad, Tobago and Canada.

 

 

Entrepreneurs Advise
Albright Business Students

Four entrepreneurs shared their success stories with Albright business students during Entrepreneurship Day on October 18, 2000.

The program featured a keynote address by James DeBord '91, senior partner in Jack Burdan & Associates, a professional writing and research firm. He presented, "Mining Gold in the Information Revolution." Other panelists included:

  • Sandy Solmon, president of Sweet Street Desserts, the largest manufacturer of gourmet desserts in the United States.
  • John P. Weidenhammer, president of Weidenhammer Systems Corp., a diversified provider of information technology related services and products.
  • Kevin S. Kendall '76, president and chief executive officer of UAI Group, Inc., a provider of turnkey solutions in engineering, architecture, construction, environmental consulting and information technology.
