Sixteen New Faculty Join Albright
Sixteen new faculty from various parts
of the U.S. and abroad have joined
Albright’s faculty this year.

Doreen Burdalski, assistant professor in
fashion merchandising, was previously an
adjunct faculty in fashion at Drexel University,
and an assistant professor in the School of
Business Administration at Philadelphia
University. She holds a master’s degree in
business administration from Rutgers, The
State University of New Jersey.

Kate A. Dwinal, director of field experiences,
was most recently employed as a
reading coach at Glenside Elementary School
in Reading, Pa. She is currently attending
Penn State University where she is working
toward completion of her master of education
degree in curriculum and instruction.

Susan M. Hughes, Ph.D.,
assistant professor in psychology,
was a visiting assistant professor
at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie,
N.Y. She holds a doctorate in
biopsychology from the University at Albany,
State University of New York.

A. Jane Johnson, assistant professor in
digital media, taught as an adjunct in
Albright’s digital media department in 2006.
She has also taught at Pratt Institute at
Munson Williams Proctor in Utica, N.Y, and at
Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. She holds a
master of fine arts degree in combined
media from Hunter College.

Jeffrey L. Kirchner, Ph.D.,
assistant professor in psychology,
last served as a graduate
research assistant at The
University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill where he received his doctorate
in social psychology with a specialization in
quantitative psychology.

John R. Martin Jr., Ph.D.,
visiting professor in political
science, was an associate professor
in political science at
Dowling College in Oakdale,
Long Island, N.Y. His specialty areas include
American politics, American race relations,
political theory, political economy, political parties and public policy. He holds a doctorate
in political science from Rutgers, The
State University of New Jersey.

Jayanthi Rajan, instructor in
economics and business, last
served as an instructor in
residence in marketing at the
University of Connecticut.
Her teaching interests include integrated
marketing communication, global marketing,
consumer behavior, marketing research
and strategy, advertising, media strategy and
Internet marketing. She holds a master’s
degree in business administration from
Bangalore University in India.

Margaret Rakas, Ph.D.,
instructor in communication,
was an adjunct instructor at
Ursinus College in Collegeville,
Pa., and at Arcadia University in
Glenside, Pa., where she taught “Media &
Society” and “Public Speaking,” respectively.
She holds a doctorate in mass media and
communication, ABD 2006, from Temple
University.

Ana Roqué, visiting professor of Spanish, is
from Córdoba, Argentina. She is a teacher in
a private prep school that focuses on business
and has taught Spanish as a foreign
language in Spain. She earned a master’s
degree in English as a foreign language from
the National University of Córdoba, where
she was also certified as an English translator.

Bonnie M. (Molina) Rohde ’92, instructor
in economics and business, has served as an
adjunct at Albright since 2004. She is also
owner of All About Business, a consulting company
that develops business strategies and
marketing plans for CEO’s and business owners.
She received a master’s degree in business
administration with a specialization in international
business from St. Joseph’s University.

Geoffrey D. Schad, Ph.D., assistant professor
in history, last served as a visiting
assistant professor in history at Franklin and
Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. His specialization
is Islamic world history and he is
proficient in both spoken and written Arabic
and French. He holds a doctorate in history
from the University of Pennsylvania.

David R. Schreiber, visiting
professor in music, is a percussionist
with several years of
teaching experience in the private
sector. He has also
worked extensively in the music industry in
recording, management, marketing and publishing.
He holds a master’s degree in music
from the University of Miami.

Linghui Tang, Ph.D., associate
professor in economics
and business, was an assistant
professor and International
Business Program coordinator
in the College of Business at The University
of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss.
She holds a doctorate in international economics
and applied econometrics from
Syracuse University.

Eleonora Inés de la Torre, visiting profesor
of Spanish, is from Córdoba, Argentina.
She teaches Portuguese at the Blas Pascal
University in Córdoba (a private Jesuit
University). She is a translator from Spanish
to Portuguese, and has worked in television
and radio producing various programs for
adolescents. She holds a master’s degree
in communications from the National
University of Córdoba.

Ada Silva Sykes, instructor in
Spanish, has more than 20
years of teaching experience,
10 of which have been specific
to teaching Spanish. Most
recently, she was employed at Daniel Boone
High School in Birdsboro, Pa., where she
taught Spanish for eight years. She holds a
master’s degree in education from Temple
University.

Marian F. Wolbers, instructor in English as
a second language, has been employed at
Albright College as an adjunct instructor in
the English and Fashion Merchandising &
Design departments since 2000. She is a
former writer and editor at Time-Life Books
(Tokyo office) and Rodale Press, and has
published books and articles on numerous
subjects. She is currently in candidate status
for her master’s degree at Kutztown
University. |
