Reading, Pa.- Albright College will host a lecture by environmentalist David J. Yozzo, Ph.D., on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 4 p.m. The lecture, “A Marsh Grows in Brooklyn: Ecological Restoration in New York City,” will be held in Klein Lecture Hall and is free and open to the public.
This event will document how environmental professionals are attempting to restore natural ecosystems within one of the most urbanized centers of the world, New York City and its five boroughs. Yozzo has been intimately involved with the ecological restoration efforts in the city and will speak about his participation in this project.
During Yozzo’s 15 years of professional experience in the environmental field, he has conducted research on invasive species ecology in the Hudson River Estuary and Long Island Sound, and has participated in the planning and evaluation of coastal habitat restoration projects in New England, Jamaica Bay, Chesapeake Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, South Florida’s Everglades and East Anglia, England. Yozzo is a member of the Conservation Advisory Board of the Town of Hurley, N.Y., past president of the Atlantic Estuarine Research Society and has served on the Governing Board of the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation.
