Experts to Discuss Global Poverty and Sustainable Development
Reading, Pa. -- Albright College will present a lecture on global poverty and sustainable development, on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at 4 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the South Lounge of the Albright College Campus Center.
This lecture will include a discussion of two strategies, education and agriculture, which are designed to promote development and self-sufficiency of Third World countries. Through the discussion, the lecturers will promote human development by showing the attendees how they can help to build resources in a manner that will continue to improve the lives of subsequent generations.
Speaking at the lecture are Albright’s Vice President for Advancement Tim McElwee, Ph.D., former senior director of development at Heifer International, and Albright professors, Trudy Obazee, M.B.A., of the accounting department and Irene Langran, Ph.D. of the political science department.
