Albright College Choral Ensembles Offer Sounds of the Season

Reading, Pa.- The Albright College Choral Ensembles, under the direction of Adlai Binger, will present their annual holiday concert, Sounds of the Season, on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. in Albright College’s Memorial Chapel.   The concert is free and open to the public.

A candlelight holiday dinner is being offered before the concert at 5:30 p.m. in the Campus Center South Lounge.  Dinner tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling the Alumni Relations Office at 610-921-7510 prior to December 3.

Featuring a variety of sacred and secular works for the holiday season, the evening will include performances by the Women’s Chorale, Concert Choir, Albright Angels and Mane Men.  Musical selections include “The Shepherds Pipe Carol” by John Rutter, “Little Lamb” by Joel Phillips, “Lux Aurumque” by Eric Whitacre and “A Hymn to the Virgin” by Benjamin Britten.  Also featured will be an array of familiar holiday favorites such as “The Sussex Carol,” “I Saw Three Ships,” “Wassail!,” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?.”  The choral ensembles will combine to perform “Still, Still, Still.”   Audience members will have the opportunity to participate in the concert by singing two familiar carols with the choral ensembles during the evening’s performance.
