Accelerated Degree Program Offers
New Major in Information Systems and Management

Reading, Pa. -- Albright’s Accelerated Degree Program (ADP), which is designed for the working adult student, now offers a new major in information systems and management.

This 16-course, interdisciplinary program is designed to provide students with both the technical skills and the business acumen required to excel in information systems and business environments. It is for business managers who require a foundation in information systems, information systems professionals who need to better understand business principles to succeed in leadership and management roles, and those who otherwise aspire to become well versed in both disciplines while earning a bachelor’s degree.

According to Mickey Baines, director of Accelerated Degree Programs, the information systems and management major was developed to meet the evolving needs of ADP students. “This program is designed to bridge the gaps in two intersecting professions, providing the credentials students need to improve and advance in their careers,” Baines said.

Other majors offered by Albright’s ADP include accounting, business administration, crime & justice, information systems and organizational behavior/applied psychology.

Working adult students in Albright’s ADP can complete a bachelor’s degree in approximately 24 months while attending one evening per week. Since the program’s inception in 1997, Albright has expanded its program to nine regional classroom locations serving 10 counties throughout eastern and central Pennsylvania. Classes are held in Allentown, Bethlehem, Blue Bell, Exton, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Media, Pottstown and Reading. Albright’s Accelerated Degree Start Program allows students to jump start an undergraduate career and earn the general studies portion of a bachelor's degree in as little as two years, while working full time.

The Degree Completion Program has more than 1,400 alumni and approximately 550 students currently enrolled.
