Freedman Gallery to Host Exhibition Mine, Mine
Reading , Pa.- The Freedman Gallery at Albright College is hosting Mine, Mine, an exhibition by contemporary artists Eric Doeringer and Nancy Drew about issues of copyright and ownership, transformation and authenticity. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2008, from 6-8 p.m., with an Artists’ Talk at 6:30 p.m. The exhibit will be open through May 3, 2008. The event is free and open to the public.
The exhibition will portray issues regarding where the legal, moral and ethical lines are drawn in the 21st century when the internet and the media place images seemingly in the public domain everywhere we look. Their work will raise questions of what is “yours” and what is “mine” in an age when images, text and ideas become commodities to be purchased, horded and manipulated by a select few.
The Freedman Gallery is located in the Center for the Arts at Albright College on 13th and Bern Streets, Reading. For more information, or disabled assistance, please call 610-921-7715.
