Domino Players Earn High Honors at Regional Theater Festival Reading, Pa. – Albright College’s Domino Players participated in the Region II National Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) January 12-15, 2011, at Towson University. The Domino Players’ production of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl was nominated to the national festival. The national judges will make the final selection in March. Founded in 1969, the KCACTF involves more than 600 academic institutions across the country. Regional festivals showcase the finest of each region’s entered productions. Judges nominate the highest-rated shows to the annual national festival at the Kennedy Center. The Domino Players’ production of Waiting for Godot was selected for the national festival in 2007. The Ubu Project was nominated in 2004, but not selected for the national showing. All three productions were directed by Jeffrey Lentz and designed by Cocol Bernal. Also winning awards were Albright senior Tiffany Hernandez of Effort, Pa., who brought home the regional award for dramaturgy and Albright’s Virtual Black Box Group who won the regional award for graphic design. The Virtual Black Box Group is a student group that uses digital media as an extension of the arts program at Albright. Visit the Center for the Arts web site.
