TRIO: Balance Transform Strata Coming to the Freedman Gallery

Reading, Pa.  – As a part of the College’s Women and the Arts season, the Freedman Gallery at Albright College will present the exhibit TRIO: Balance Transform Strata, on view January 26 – March 11, 2011.  The exhibit consists of a selection of prints by three contemporary women artists, Melanie Yazzie, Mildred Beltré and Sydney Cross, complemented by six works by women printmakers in the permanent collection.

Events surrounding the exhibit include:

  • Afterschool Art Lab

This year Albright’s Center for the Arts celebrates “Women in the Arts.” The center has chosen to focus this season – 90 years after women in America received full enfranchisement – on women and the arts to explore gender as both a potential limitation and source of inspiration in theatre, music, fashion and visual arts.
