International Film Series February Events

Reading, Pa.  – Albright College’s International Film Series will offer films throughout the spring semester. All films begin at 7:30 p.m. in Klein Lecture Hall (CFA room 235) in the Center for the Arts on the campus of Albright College. Tickets are $3.

February 15
Rio Bravo (1959, 141 min.) byHoward Hawks. 

Simultaneously accepting and altering the clichés of the classic western by infusing them with a new sensitivity and humanity, Hawks creates one of the most delightful works in this most American of genres. Directed by one of the masters of Hollywood filmmaking, featuring a multi-generational grab bag of pop icons,” (A.O. Scott): Ricky Nelson, Angie Dickinson, Walter Brennan, Dean Martin and John Wayne.

Black Maria Film/Video Festival
John Columbus in person
A juried national tour reflecting the imaginative work being done by experimental and independent film and video makers today. John Columbus, the festival’s founder and director, will present a selection of prizewinners representing a wide range of styles and genres from this year’s competition including local director Jerry Orr’s Cowboy’s Heifers (W)rap, winner of a Director’s Choice prize this year.

Klein Lecture Hall is located in the Center for the Arts on the Albright College campus at 13th & Bern Streets in Reading, Pa.
