Director of Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being Reading , Pa.- Alison J. Camlin of Leesport, Pa., has been appointed director of the new Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being (SCFW) at Albright College. The director of the SCFW is responsible for facilitating the advancement of the health and well-being of the greater Albright community through SCFW programs. The director is also responsible for all aspects of the SCFW including, but not limited to supervising all personnel, budget, and providing programming for students, employees and community patrons. Camlin has served as an instructor and coordinator of group fitness at Body Works in Temple, Pa., and as director/coordinator of group fitness at LA Fitness International in Wyomissing, Pa. She is owner of Jersey Girl Fitness in Leesport, Pa., and has worked as an aquatic specialist and exercise physiologist in New Jersey and Hawaii. Camlin received a bachelor of science degree in exercise physiology from West Chester University. She is certified in a number of areas including group fitness instruction, yoga, Pilates, CPR and First Aid, and is working toward certification in personal training. The Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being opened this fall. The new building was made possible with a $4.75 million gift from Margaret K. Schumo of Wyomissing, Pa., and her daughter Cynthia Lynn. It features a cardiovascular fitness room; a weight room; an aerobic room; a nutrition classroom; conference space; offices; locker rooms; an atrium; and Jammin' Juice, a café featuring healthy snacks. Founded in 1856, Albright College is a nationally ranked, private college with a rigorous liberal arts curriculum with an interdisciplinary focus. The College's hallmarks are connecting fields of learning, collaborative teaching and learning, and a flexible curriculum that allows students to create an individualized education. Albright College enrolls more than 1,650 undergraduates in traditional programs, another 500 adult students in accelerated degree programs, and 100 students in the master's program in education.
