The Future of Economic Development and Taxes in Berks County

Regional Berks Municipal Partnership (BMP) Spring Dinner Meetings.

During the fall of 2016, CELG, the Greater Reading Economic Partnership and the Berks County Planning Commission, will host regional dinners throughout the five BMP regions to discuss the current state of the county population, jobs and taxes. Why has the county population and job growth stagnated? What are the issues? What can or should we do? During the winter you will receive an invitation to attend a dinner with school district and county officials, where there will be a presentation on where we are as a county, municipality and school district. You will also learn what some of the answers and tools are for new revenues that are available to address ever-increasing property taxes. We would like to have at least two officials from each municipality in attendance.

Come and hear about the latest trends in jobs and population trends. Learn about the tools and organizations at your fingertips to assist with Commercial and Industrial Development and Retention so critical to jobs and property tax growth without actually raising taxes. This is your chance to see the latest tools to assist you finding the ground which can attract light industry and commercial development without impacting your school district.

You may attend any regional dinners and we hope to have 3-4 registrants from each municipality or school district.

$15.00 per person, 6:30 p.m.
