Success for the Lions this Fall
The fall athletic season is winding down, but not after some impressive feats! For the first time in 25 years, the men’s soccer team made an appearance in the Commonwealth Conference semi-finals. Though Messiah came out on top in the last game, the Lions hold a commendable 8-9-2 overall record in 2007.
In addition, with the help of new Head Coach John Marzka, the Lions football team is undefeated in the MAC conference. Suffering only one loss to Salisbury in a non-conference game, the Lions are roaring and ready to finish the season strong. Coach Marzka, former offensive line coach at Allegheny, has a history of success which includes helping the Allegheny Gators compile a 55-5 regular season record, four NCAC championships and reaching the NCAA playoffs on four occasions. Keep track of their success by visiting the football section of the athletics web page.
The Albright rugby team hasn’t let the spirit trail off either. The team is ranked fourth nationally with only a few losses. Their overall record is 11-3 and their league record is 5-0.
