Oozeball
On April 27, 16 teams of Albright College students participated in Oozeball – one of the many traditions at Albright.
What is this silly sounding sport, you ask? Picture a regular game of volleyball – the standard sized court, nice white volleyball and teams of players. For Oozeball, picture that volleyball court filled with gallons of dirt and water mixed to form a giant MUD court.
As soon as Professor Jim Speese, acting referee, blew the whistle to begin the game, that nice white volleyball wasn’t so white anymore.
Sports teams, Greeks and members of the Domino Players Theatre Company participated in this yearly event held in the “The Woods,” an on-campus apartment complex for upperclassmen. However, only one team came out on top. The Pi Kappa Phi fraternity took home the ultimate win.
Spectators not only enjoyed the game, but some good barbecuing as well, courtesy of Albright’s Dining Services.
