2007/2008 Season

Fall Session: September 4 - October 13, 2007

Winter Session: Begins: October 15, 2007 Ends: With your final meet participation. Age Group Championships (JOs) or Mini Championships or East/West Regional Meet. These are USS meets that usually occur in late February, March and early April. If not participating in any of these, the EPAL Championships is the last meet of the season.

Group D -One Hour
Requirements: Must swim 25 yards of any two strokes. Practices will involve mainly stroke technique with some conditioning.

Practices: Swimmers can practice up to THREE times a week. Monday/Wednesday/Friday 6 - 7 p.m.
Fees: Fall Winter Fall & Winter

Group C - One Hour
Practices: Swimmers can practice up to FIVE times a week.
Monday thru Friday 6 - 7 p.m.
Fees: Fall Winter Fall & Winter

Group B - 1-1/2 Hour
Practices: Swimmers can practice up to SIX times a week.
Monday thru Friday 7 - 8:30 p.m.; Sat. 7 - 8:45 a.m.
Fees: Fall Winter Fall & Winter

Group A - Two Hours
Practices: Swimmers can practice up to SIX times a week.
Monday thru Friday 7 - 9 p.m.; Sat. 7 - 8:45 a.m.
Fees: Fall Winter Fall & Winter
$195 $410 $560

There is a 10% discount given for the (lowest group) second child. Winter and Fall & Winter fees include the $55 USA required registration.

Fall & Winter registration can be paid in two parts, with one half of the fee being paid at registration and the second half being paid by December 1, 2007.


Spring Session: Albright Aquatic Club will be hosting a six week SPRING session to help you get into shape for your SUMMER swimming.

Sign up and pay by April 2, 2007 in order to guarantee your spot. Session begins April 23, 2007 and runs to June 2, 2007.

Group B - Swimmers can practice up to SIX times a week. Monday thru Friday 7-8:30 p.m., Saturday 7-8:45 a.m.
Fee is $175

Group A - Swimmers can practice up to SIX times a week. Monday thru Friday 7-9 p.m., Saturday 7-9 a.m.
Fee is $195

Sign up on April 2nd between 7 and 8 p.m. at the pool to talk to the coach. If you know what group you want to be in, fill out the form and mail it to us or put it in our box at the pool.

About Albright Aquatic Club


Swimmers & Parents

Welcome! Whether you are returning to our program or a newly interested member, Albright Aquatic Club provides a fun, safe and happy environment for children. We enthusiastically embrace the opportunity to aid in the development of the swimmer's self-confidence and self-esteem. As part of our commitment to our swimmers, we offer a wide variety of training options with a well-trained staff.


Our Staff

Head Coach Thomas Burkman has an extensive swimming background. He competed for Reading High School and went on to compete for Fairmont State College in West Virginia where he graduated in 1985 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Tom has been an Educational Assistant for the Reading High School since 1992. Tom has been an Assistant Head Coach for the Reading High School boys and girls teams. Over the years he has also coached several community groups including Maple Springs Summer Swim Program, Ugly Duckling Aquatics, and Antietam Summer Swim Team. Tom is returning to AAC for his 8th season as head coach.

Melissa Good, assistant coach, was a distance swimmer for Millersville University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She is currently employed at Aquabilities in Birdsboro as a swim instructor and lifeguard. In the summer, she is also an assistant coach for the Twin Valley swim team. Melissa is currently working towards a job in social services.

Michael Owens represented Albright College as a finalist in all 4 years of swimming conference championships. He, also, provided lifeguard duties at Albright pool as part of his scholarship. Mike joins our coaching staff, after graduating from Albright College with a Bachelor of Science in May of 2006.

Our Facility

Albright poolAAC practices at the Albright College pool. A six lane, 25 yard pool which opened in 1990. There is an automated timing system and multiple pace clocks, VASA swim trainer benches and access to a weight room for those who meet the physiological requirements. There are locker rooms, ample deck and seating space. You can enter the facility from Birch Street.

United States Swimming

As a member of AAC, swimmers will also be part of United States Swimming, the national governing body for age-group competitive swimming in the US. More information is available at the Middle Atlantic Swimming website: maswim.org. This site also contains information regarding USA meets available in our area.

Winter and Fall & Winter fees include the $55 USA required registration.

AAC is a member of the EPAL (Eastern PA Aquatic League). Attendance at all dual meets is expected. In addition to the EPAL meets, AAC participates in USA mini-meets, A/BB/C and elite meets selected by the coaches.
